Founded in London in 2015, Farer is an independent watch brand built around a deliberately different proposition: Swiss-made mechanical watches whose dials are as expressive as their specifications are serious. The brand designs in Britain and makes its watches in Switzerland, combining colourful, finely detailed dials with a broad modern catalogue that includes GMTs, world timers, dive watches, integrated-bracelet sports watches, dress watches and manual-wind chronographs.
Farer is a British independent producing Swiss-made mechanical watches in a broad £1,000–£2,000-plus range. Its signatures are saturated dial colour, compact proportions, historical naming references and carefully chosen Swiss calibres: Sellita for GMTs and chronographs, and La Joux-Perret for its Aqua Compressor, Three Hand and Lissom collections.

Main collections
GMT (Lander IV)
Farer's defining travel watch. The Lander IV uses a top-grade Sellita SW330-2 automatic GMT movement with a 56-hour reserve; it is available in compact 36mm and 39.5mm steel cases with 100m water resistance and a screw-down crown.
GMT Bezel
A more overtly tool-watch-oriented GMT family. It pairs a second-time-zone display with a rotating 24-hour bezel, comes in 38mm and 40mm steel cases, and offers 200m water resistance. Treat it as the alternative to the Lander if bezel timing and greater water resistance matter more than the Lander's fixed-scale format.
World Timer
A 39mm, 11mm-thick world-time watch that reads 24 cities through a rotating city bezel and a 24-hour disc. Its customised Sellita SW330-1 replaces the normal GMT hand with that disc and has a 50-hour reserve. It is the Farer to choose for global-time reading, not merely for a second zone.
Aqua Compressor Titanium Series III
Farer's most capable water watch: a 41mm grade-2 titanium compressor-style diver with 300m water resistance, an internal unidirectional timing bezel and the highest-grade La Joux-Perret G101. The movement offers approximately 68 hours of power reserve.
Three Hand Series III
The purest current expression of the everyday Farer: a 39mm automatic three-hand watch, 11.8mm thick, with 100m water resistance, a screw-down crown and La Joux-Perret G101 Soignée movement. It is the best starting point for buyers who want Farer's dial design without a travel complication.
Cushion Case
A compact, hand-wound alternative. The 35mm Furneaux and Belzoni use a Sellita SW210-1 b Elaboré movement with approximately 45 hours of reserve in a 10mm-thick steel cushion case. This is the most clearly small-wrist-oriented current Farer format.
Lissom
A modern, colourful dress-watch family with small seconds. The 38mm Lissom is only 7.95mm thick, made possible by the 2.5mm hand-wound La Joux-Perret D100. It is the Farer for buyers who prioritise slimness, formal wear and visible movement finishing.
Integra
Farer's integrated-bracelet urban sports watch. Its 38.5mm steel case is 10.3mm thick and 100m water-resistant; the top-grade Sellita SW300-1 provides a 56-hour reserve and lets the watch remain notably slim. The collection uses a bespoke full-circle rotor matched to the dial colour.
Pilot Series II
A technical aviation family built around legibility and magnetic resistance. Current Series II models use a 40mm titanium case and protect the movement with a soft-iron Faraday cage. Choose this family for an aviation-style Farer whose design priority is readability rather than colour complexity.
Racing Chronograph
A 38.5mm steel, manual-wind chronograph line inspired by late-1960s and early-1970s racing liveries. Its Sellita SW510M b Elaboré movement has a 63-hour reserve; a bidirectional ceramic 12-hour bezel can also track a second time zone. It is the chronograph choice for a traditional two-pusher layout.
Monopusher Chronograph
Farer's more unusual chronograph proposition: a manually wound, single-pusher chronograph combined with a GMT function. Current Segrave models use the Sellita SW510 MP; earlier Cobb and Segrave GMT references used different Sellita monopusher calibres. Keep individual movement claims on the model page, not in generic collection copy.

Farer was founded in London in 2015 by Paul Sweetenham, Ben Lewin, Jono Holt and Stuart Finlayson. The first launch consisted of quartz watches, but the brand quickly established its identity through Swiss-made mechanical models and a design language that avoided the conventional black, blue and faux-vintage formula common among young independent brands. Farer describes its watches as British-designed and Swiss-made, and it has long worked with Roventa Henex in Bienne, Switzerland.
The useful way to understand Farer is not as a single-style microbrand. It is a design-led independent with several distinct product families: practical travel watches, a serious titanium diver, slim dress watches, aviation watches, modern sports watches and manual-wind chronographs. That breadth is unusual at this price level and makes collection-level pages essential to the Farer content hub.
What Defines a Farer Watch
Colour is Farer's most immediate signature, but it is not simply decorative. The brand uses colour to distinguish functions and improve the reading of its layered dials: separate hues for GMT hands, 24-hour scales, city rings, timing bezels and small-seconds registers. This gives even the most technical models a recognisable identity without turning them into replicas of mid-century tool watches.
Many core Farer automatics use a solid bronze winding crown. Bronze reacts with handling and atmosphere, so the crown darkens and develops a personal patina over time. Treat this as a design detail, not a universal Farer feature: it does not apply across every collection, especially newer dress, sports and chronograph designs.
Names commonly refer to historical figures, vessels or places associated with exploration, travel, science, aviation or speed. The convention provides a coherent editorial thread, but the names should not be presented as exclusively explorer-derived: the Lissom collection, for example, uses botanical references, while the racing range has motorsport associations.

Movements and Specifications
Farer does not rely on one movement throughout its catalogue. The Lander GMT uses the top-grade Sellita SW330-2, an automatic Swiss GMT calibre with a 56-hour power reserve. The World Timer uses a version of the Sellita SW330-1 customised by Sellita for Farer: instead of a conventional GMT hand, it drives a rotating 24-hour disc that works with the city bezel. This is a meaningful distinction for search content and buyer guidance — a Farer World Timer is not simply a Lander with a different dial.
The current Aqua Compressor Titanium Series III and Three Hand Series III use La Joux-Perret's G101 in its highest soignée grade. The Aqua Compressor pairs it with a 41mm grade-2 titanium case and 300m water resistance; the Three Hand puts it in a 39mm steel case with 100m water resistance. The Integra uses a top-grade Sellita SW300-1, chosen for its slim profile and 56-hour reserve. Lissom uses the 2.5mm-thick hand-wound La Joux-Perret D100, based on the Peseux 7001 architecture, enabling its 7.95mm overall case thickness.
